Latest Sioux Falls Street Construction Update: Lane Restriction and Road Closure This Week.
The first project begins Tuesday, August 4, when South Garfield Avenue will be reduced to one lane at the intersection of West 26th Street starting at 8:30 a.m.
The intersection will be controlled by stop signs while crews from First Rate Excavate Inc. complete a water tie-in.
According to the City of Sioux Falls, the lane restriction is expected to remain in place through Tuesday, August 11, with work scheduled to wrap up by the end of the day.
Another traffic change begins Wednesday, August 5, when South Grange Avenue will be closed between West 18th Street and West 22nd Street beginning at 8:30 a.m.
City of Sioux Falls Public Works crews will be performing water main work in the area.
Officials expect the project to be completed and all traffic control devices removed by the end of the day, allowing the road to reopen as scheduled.
Drivers traveling through either construction zone are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and obey all posted traffic signs.
If possible, motorists should consider using alternate routes to avoid delays.
