The Human Bean’s Food Drive Aims to Help Hungry Families
During the holiday season, many people are moved to donate to food pantries and food banks. It’s a time when generosity shines, and shelves tend to fill up with canned goods and holiday staples. But what often gets overlooked is the critical need for donations during the summer months.
When school is out, many children who rely on free or reduced-price lunches face an increased risk of going hungry. Families may struggle to afford extra meals, especially as grocery prices remain high. At the same time, food pantries typically see a drop in donations during summer. Without steady support, they can’t keep up with the rising demand.

That is why The Human Bean is hosting a very special fundraiser this Friday, August 8. It is their 12th Annual food drive. On Friday, one dollar for every drink sold will be donated to local food pantries and programs.
Food banks and pantries operate all year long, not just in December. They provide emergency assistance to working families, seniors, veterans, and others in need. Keeping their shelves stocked during the summer is just as important as it is during the holidays.
On average, one dollar provides three meals for those in need. Last year, The Human Bean locations were able to collectively fund the equivalent of 202,998 meals. Each participating drive-thru chooses a local food bank to support.
