A Spooktacular Night of Dancing Is Coming to Downtown Sioux Falls
Unleash Your Halloween Spirit on the Dance Floor
Halloween is usually the time of year when people are looking for haunted houses, scary movies, and anything else that might make them jump out of their skin. But what if you'd rather spend your Halloween season dancing instead?
You can do exactly that at the Halloween Masquerade Dance on Friday, October 9, at the El Riad Shrine in downtown Sioux Falls.

Dance Into the Night: Schedule and Activities
The evening gets started at 6:45 p.m. with a beginner's dance lesson, which is free with admission. So, if your dancing skills are a little rusty - or you're pretty sure you have two left feet - don't worry. An experienced instructor will get you moving in the right direction.
The actual dance begins at 7:30 p.m., with live music from The Apostles Band.
The band features experienced musicians with decades of performing under their belts and a repertoire designed for all kinds of partnered dancing, including swing, ballroom, two-step, and Latin styles. There will also be opportunities to learn other dances throughout the evening.
And when the band takes a break, that's no excuse to sit down! Popular line dances, including the Electric Slide, will keep people moving.
Dress to Impress: Costumes and Attire
Of course, this is a Halloween masquerade, so you have a little extra freedom when deciding what to wear. Business casual or something a little dressier is perfectly appropriate, but if you've got a scary or Halloween-themed costume sitting in the closet, this is a pretty good excuse to break it out.

Admission is $15 per person at the door, or $7 for students with a student ID.
The Halloween Masquerade Dance runs from 6:45 to 10:30 p.m. at the El Riad Shrine, located at 510 S. Phillips Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls. There's plenty of free street parking, along with a large municipal parking lot on the east side of the building.
So, if you're looking for a Halloween event that doesn't involve being chased through the dark, grab a mask, put on your dancing shoes, and get ready to have a spooktacular night on the dance floor!
