If you were thinking of heading out to Great Bear for a bit of hiking, tubing, snowboarding, or skiing tomorrow (March 16) you're going to need a change of plans.

Due to the forecasted winter storm, Great Bear Ski Valley will be closed on Thursday.

That's the bad news. The good news is the tubing park will be open this weekend on Friday night, as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Depending on how the rest of our winter season goes, Great Bear currently plans to be open for skiing and snowboarding through March 26, 2023.

If you're just looking to learn how to participate in winter sports, Great Bear is also the place, as they offer lessons too. You might become the next Shaun White (or not)!

To stay on top of all things Great Bear Ski Valley, like their end-of-season "SnirtFest" (snow + dirt = snirt) party, just go to their website or follow them on Facebook.

14 Grocery Shortages South Dakota May Deal With This Winter

It seems like grocery shopping has turned into a hit-and-miss experience across the Midwest. South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa have seen empty shelves next to fully stocked ones.

All the jelly you want, but no peanut butter, for example.

The fallout from the first year of the COVID pandemic is still with us. Add to that the effect of the war in Ukraine and weather disasters.

Disruptions to global shipping and the domestic supply chain mean that you may run into a situation where you don't know if all you need will be in stock.

Winter 2022-2023 is looking to deal with several possible shortages of some grocery store favorites.
