Will The ‘Door Kick Challenge’ Eventually Hit Sioux Falls?
Have you heard any chatter yet regarding this "door kick challenge" that's making the rounds on social media right now?
Supposedly, groups of teenagers who should really find something productive to do with their lives, like getting a job, are going up to neighborhood doors in the middle of the night, and channeling their inner Chuck Norris as they violently kick them, before running off!
It's the latest social media craze sweeping the nation.

As you might imagine, several people have caught images of these little junior ninjas on Ring cameras and other surveillance systems, instantly upgrading their stunt from "It was just a prank, bro" to "See evidence exhibit A" status.
Dakota News Now reports that a Louisville woman was able to capture images of a group of teens in action performing the challenge at her home and others in her neighborhood. That video evidence was turned over to the local authorities, who promise to arrest and charge anyone caught committing the crime.

So far, I haven't heard about anyone reporting the "door kick challenge" yet here in the Sioux Falls area. It's probably just a matter of time before one of these door-destroying delinquents thinks it's a good way to spend a Friday night.
According to the Dakota News Now article, some states, like Kentucky, have already arrested and charged groups of people caught doing the challenge.
I sure hope no one attempts to show off their NFL field goal kicking skills on my front door anytime soon. If they do, I might decide to take the advice of Detective Harry Callahan from the Dirty Harry movies, and introduce them to my friends Smith & Wesson!
Those two fellas don't take kindly to uninvited guests in the middle of the night.
