We get it you're tired of hearing about Stanley Cups, but you have to admit they have created quite a stir on social media recently that's hard to ignore.

From surviving a car fire to causing chaos at Target and Starbucks locations across the country, now we are starting to see a trend in Stanley heists. Yes, seriously. People are stealing thousands of dollars worth of these popular cups in hopes of making a profit online.

The resale value of certain limited edition colors has increased their popularity online which makes them a target for theft. Based on the most recent Stanley theft report, the limited edition tumblers are not the only ones being sought out by shoplifters, it appears that any Stanley product is game right now.

Just last week, over $1000 worth of Stanley cups were stolen from Dick's in Lafayette. Lafayette police and crime stoppers are still searching for the suspects.

In California, a 23-year-old woman found herself in trouble with the law after allegedly stealing 65 Stanley tumblers, collectively valued at nearly $2,500. The incident unfolded when employees at a store in Roseville reported a theft on a Wednesday afternoon. According to the Roseville Police Department, store personnel witnessed the woman leaving the premises with a shopping cart filled to the brim with Stanley water bottles, all without making any attempt to pay for them.

Rather than complying with staff requests to stop, the woman defiantly loaded the stolen cups into her car and sped away from the scene. Fortunately, the observant employees managed to provide officers with a description of the suspect's vehicle, aiding in her swift apprehension. An alert officer located the vehicle nearby and conducted a traffic stop.

Upon searching the vehicle, the officer discovered a staggering 65 Stanley products, all worth nearly $2,500. The woman was promptly arrested on charges of grand theft. She was identified as a resident of Sacramento, California.

The Roseville Police Department took to Facebook to offer a humorous comment, saying, "While Stanley Quenchers are all the rage, we strongly advise against turning to crime to fulfill your hydration habits."
