It’s Here! New Parking Garage Now Open At Sioux Falls Airport

The wait is finally over...Sioux Empire travelers have a new parking option at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.

The new four-tier parking garage at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport just opened this week. This project at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport has been coming for a long time for the airport and Sioux Empire travelers.

There are nearly 1,000 new parking spaces ready for Sioux Falls travelers to use when they take on their next adventure. Sioux Falls Regional Airport  Executive Director Dan Letellier tells our news partners at Dakota News Now they couldn't be more excited to see this project finally come to life.

“We certainly invested in aesthetics both outside and inside. We added a skyway, which we needed to do, added escalators and elevators to make that process of getting to and from the skyway as easy as possible. We’re really focused on improving the customer experience flying out of Sioux Falls."

Officials with the Sioux Falls Regional Airport and the City of Sioux Falls did a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday to signify this huge opening at the airport.

The four-tier parking garage comes with a parking ramp with a skywalk to allow easy access inside the airport. However, the new skyway and addition to the terminal building are still under construction and are expected to be finished by mid-October. Until the skyway is complete, Sioux Empire travelers should use the ramp exit on the ground level and walk across the street to the ticketing area and baggage claim.

This major project goes beyond a parking garage. The next step is to add new gates and expand the concourse. When this project is complete, the Sioux Falls Regional Airport will have a total of 14 gates.
