Rascal Flatts Lip-Synced at the ACM Awards

(AP) - Rascal Flatts thought it would be better to fake it than not show up.

After viewers of Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards accused the band of lip-syncing their performance of "Rewind," the band has come clean and admitted they did.

Rascal Flatts say on their Facebook page singer Gary LeVox (leh-VOH') lost his voice after doing several shows earlier in the week. They say they made a last-minute decision to lip-sync at the ACMs instead of canceling.

In their words, "We've never done it before, and we're obviously not very good at it."
