Where is the Hottest Spot in All of Iowa Year Round?
Despite the stereotypes, Iowa isn't just a flat state with the same temperature everywhere you go. In fact, some parts of the Hawkeye State are MUCH warmer, year round, than others.
According to Weatherstem, the hottest temperature ever recorded in the state of Iowa occurred in the town of Keokuk in July of 1934, where the thermometer showed an astounding 118°F (47.8°C). As unbearably hot and miserable it must have been that day, Keokuk isn't quite the warmest spot year round in the state, but it's basically in the ballpark.

The southeast part of the state, in particular, Burlington, Iowa, is considered the hottest spot year round, with an average year round temperature of 46.7 degrees Fahrenheit.
Warmest Winter Temperatures: The area along the Mississippi River between Burlington and Fort Madison experiences the warmest average winter temperatures. During January, the coldest month, temperatures range from morning lows of 15°F and afternoon highs of 32°F in the southeast, while the northwest corner sees lows of 4°F and highs of 22°F.

Not only is it the hottest on average, but Burlington also has the most 90 degree days of any town in Iowa, with around 25 every single year.
So, there you have it. Wanna stay in Iowa but avoid the most frigid parts of the state? Then pack your bags and move to the southeast! But if, in fact, you do want to live in the coldest town in Iowa, for the record, it's the mighty town of Cresco in the northeast.
