If you suffer from a mental illness or know someone who does, Phyllis Arends of NAMI Sioux Falls invites you to a special program being held at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls Sunday evening.  It's called the "21st Annual Candlelight Vigil & Walk."  The program begins at 6 p.m. with Prayer and Scripture Service in the Church's Chapel.

Beginning Sunday, Mental Health Awareness Week is observed throughout the country.  The goal is to raise awareness about mental illness through education, outreach and advocacy.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, one in five adults experiences a mental health condition in any given year.  One in 17 adults lives with a serious mental illness.  The good news is treatment is available and recovery is possible!
