Hometown Tuesday: Hotel On Phillips
Many individuals are probably itching to travel and stay at a hotel once the COVID-19 crisis has passed and becomes part of history. However, if you are looking for that quick weekend getaway or wish to stay closer to home, Hotel On Phillips is the perfect place to start!
Located on 100 N. Phillips Avenue in Downtown Sioux Falls, the newly renovated hotel was originally the site of a Sioux Falls National Bank building. According to its website, Hotel On Phillips " was originally built as the Sioux Falls National Bank in 1918 and it continued to operate as a bank over the years along with various office spaces situated on floors three through nine. At the time it was built, it was the tallest building in South Dakota. One hundred years later, in 2018, Hotel On Phillips began its restoration and transformation into an upscale chic boutique hotel featuring 90 unique and elegant guest rooms along with many luxury suites."
The hotel lobby in the hotel itself captures the very essence of the building's early 1900s history. They even transformed the old bank vault into a bar called The Treasury, which was previously featured as a "Hometown Tuesday" highlight. There is truly a sense of elegance in the atmosphere. You feel as though you entered a palace or a historic mansion.
Hotel On Phillips is also centrally located near all the downtown restaurants and entertainment venues, such as the Washington Pavillon, Levitt At The Falls, and the 8th and Railroad Center.
Once the social distancing bans are lifted, visit Hotel On Phillips to find out how you can experience Sioux Falls and all it has to offer!
