Hometown Tuesday: Falls Landing

When you're traveling through South Dakota and in particular, Sioux Falls there are so many great restaurants to visit.  The best?  Well, that’s basically asking me to make an impossible decision! There is always someplace new to try.

Sometimes the hidden establishments are the best surprises.  Falls Landing I'd say would definitely fit this description.

Falls Landing is located below Country Inn & Suites Hotel in downtown Sioux Falls.  In fact, it's right next to the newly restored 8th Avenue Bridge.   The opening of the bridge just makes it that much easier to stop by Falls Landing!

According to its website, Falls Landing is known to be the "Home of the Famous Falls Philly."  They are also known for their Cuban sandwich.  "Our Philly is made from shaved prime rib, freshly-cooked buns, peppers, onions, and Swiss cheese. Our equally popular Cuban sandwich is served with smoked pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and mustard," states the Falls Landing website.  There is also a really nice outdoor patio along the riverwalk to enjoy a meal on a nice spring or summer day in Sioux Falls!

I had never been to Falls Landing until recently simply because I could never find it.  With a little help from my friends, I found the local establishment and enjoyed one of its tasty burgers.  Specifically, the "Toon Burger" for the 8th Annual Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle!

Not to persuade your vote, but this burger was absolutely outstanding! Falls Landing toasted the bun perfectly, and the patty just melts in your mouth.
