Highway Crashes Kill at Least 2 in South Dakota
At least two people died in separate highway crashes over the July 4th holiday weekend in South Dakota.
The Highway Patrol says 59-year-old Richard Rolsma of Hetland was killed shortly after 8pm Saturday in a rollover about seven miles northwest of Arlington.
Then, about two hours later, a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 in Jones County took the life of a Rapid City man.
Troopers say 24-year-old Charles Thesing was driving a vehicle that crossed the center line in a construction zone about nine miles west of Murdo and collided with a semi-truck.
Thesing and his passenger, 22-year-old Quintez Provancial of Rapid City, were not wearing seatbelts.
Thesing died at the scene, while his passenger was taken to a Pierre hospital and later transferred to Sioux Falls.
