Hi, My Name Is Chad and I’m a Netflix Binge Watcher
I did something over the weekend I said I would never ever do - I binge watched 'Breaking Bad' on Netflix. This, after earlier in the week, getting after my daughter for binge watching something called 'Shaytards' on YouTube.
First of all, let me explain how this whole thing came to be. My original plan was to go motorcycle riding. But given the fact the wind was blowing at what seemed like hurricane strength, I decided to wait for the "breeze" to calm down and watch one episode of 'Breaking Bad.'
FIVE HOURS LATER - I looked at the clock and realized I had just watched a half dozen episodes (if the math doesn't add up, each 'Breaking Bad' episode only runs 42 minutes). And I'd probably still be sitting there if the battery on my tablet hadn't run out.
Now I get it when it comes to Netflix. Before signing up for the online service, I would hear people at the office talk about how nice it was to be able to watch more than one episode at a sitting. Nice - yes, but also time consuming.
It was almost like I went into a trance, not realizing when one episode ended and another one began. Netflix should have to put up a warning like Lay's Potato Chips saying, "Bet you can't watch just one."
I will admit, there was a bit of guilt that set in at the end of the my 'Couch Potato Marathon,' but it sure was nice not having to wait a week to see if Hank survives the gun battle with the bad drug cartel guys from Mexico. SPOILER ALERT - he does!
