If there's one thing we've learned nine months into the year 2020 it's that there is no such thing as 'normal' anymore.

Everywhere we look, our old ways of doing things have been scrapped for new 'outside-the-box' ways of navigating through this ever-changing world we live in.

Some of those things have been done out of necessity, while others I truly believe have emerged simply because we've adopted this 'anything goes' attitude toward what will likely go down as the most memorable year of our lives.

It was less than a month ago that I was ranting here about the demise of what used to constitute breakfast cereal - something grain, oat, or wheat-based, with maybe a sprinkling of sugar or a scoop or two of raisins or some marshmallows thrown in for good measure.

That was about as wild as it got.

Not any more.

Chocolate in the cereal aisle is now all the rage, with the announcement by Kellog's last month of their new Chocolate Eggo Cereal that will hit store shelves later this year. That means that there are now no fewer than a dozen different options for those who can't decide between candy, cookies, or cereal for their morning meal.

But what if chocolate is not your thing. Is anybody looking out for you?

They sure are.

Kellog's is back at it again, this time celebrating the 60th anniversary of an American snack food classic with the unveiling of Little Debbie's Oatmeal Creme Pie Cereal - made with spiced oatmeal cookie cereal bits coated in cinnamon, nutmeg, and molasses - all set to debut in stores in December.

What will they think of next?

Here's a reminder of how things look in the cereal aisle these days:
