SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Former state School and Public Lands Commissioner Bryce Healy is becoming the executive director of an organization that represents South Dakota building contractors.

The Associated General Contractors of South Dakota Building Chapter represents more than 200 general contractors, suppliers and service firms in the state. It works on legislation, governmental relations, workforce development and other issues.

Healy was the state commissioner of school and public lands in 2003-2007. After that, he was executive director of the South Dakota Education Association, the state's main teachers union.
