MOBRIDGE, S.D. (AP) — Faulty electrical wiring is believed to be the cause of a fire earlier this month that gutted a building in Mobridge housing a store and an apartment.

The Jan. 9 blaze displaced a children's clothing store called The Peanut Gallery and a family of three that lived in an upstairs apartment. No one was hurt.

Fire Chief Mitch Voller tells the American News that the building was destroyed.

A fire last Saturday at West Side Meats in Mobridge remains under investigation. Voller says that building also was destroyed. The two employees who were inside at the time got out safely.
