SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The Salvation Army in Sioux Falls has gotten a boost from an anonymous donor who dropped two sets of 30 silver dollars in a kettle.

The Argus Leader reports that the coins are worth an estimated $18 apiece, for a total of nearly $1,100.

It's not the only large donation to a Salvation Army kettle in the region this holiday season. Someone put a $500,000 check into a kettle in Minneapolis late last month. Earlier this month, someone put a gold coin into a kettle in Jamestown, North Dakota, worth as much as $720.
