Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon and Townsquare Media Sioux Falls

Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon 2022 Presented By Jerry's Auto Sales: Sept 29 and 30

For fifteen years Result-Townsquare Media Sioux Falls has been helping raise money to help fight childhood cancer.

Sadly, more than 11,000 children will be diagnosed with various forms of cancer this year. Instead of being able to just be a kid, these children will be learning about the serious experiences of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and hospital or clinic visits.

The money raised through Dining for Kids and the 2022 Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon stays in the Sioux Falls area.

So many times, parents hear from their kids that their ears are hurting. Never did Adam and Amy anticipate a cancer diagnosis when their daughter Holly complained of an earache.

But, in December of 2018, what started out like any ear infection turned into a diagnosis of rhabdomyosarcoma. Holly was just five and a half years old at the time. Within a week, Holly had her first chemotherapy to treat the tumor, which was the size of the lime in her cheek.

Holly underwent 42 weeks of chemotherapy and several rounds of proton radiation before ringing the bell, signifying the end of treatment, but Holly's cancer continues to impact her life.

Every 3-4 weeks, Holly returns to the Castle for a blood transfusion to give her the strength and energy she needs. Holly's cancer diagnosis strengthened the bond she shares with her twin sister, Haley, and while they no longer look identical, they still support each other like two peas in a pod.
