Nuclear War was (and is) unthinkable.  The total destruction of a nation, of nations, of the entire world.

In October, 1962, this wasn't some science fiction movie from the imaginative minds in Hollywood.

This was real.

At the height of the Cold War, the Soviet Union were placing missiles in Cube, mere miles off the shore of Florida.  And they were pointed towards the United States.

The intimidating Nikita Kruschev was staring down the young American President, John F. Kennedy.

The two Super Powers were on the brink of Nuclear War.

The President addressed the nation (and the world) about the situation.
