Chris Streveler Shines in Winnipeg Blue Bomber Win
Former University of South Dakota quarterback Chris Streveler played a big part in the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' latest win in the Canadian Football League.
The Crystal Lake, Minnesota native came on in relief of starting quarterback Matt Nichols to throw his first passes of the 2019 season - going six-of-eight for 42 yards and a touchdown while rushing 11 times for 44 yards and two scores in Winnipeg's 29-14 triumph over Ottawa.
The victory pushed the Blue Bombers to 3-0 on the season. They are the only unbeaten team remaining in the CFL.
This week, the Blue Bombers host the Toronto Argonauts, Friday (July 12) at 7:30 PM.
This is Streveler's second season in Canada. Last season he appeared in 14 games and threw for 11 touchdowns and more than 1,100 yards while scoring ten times on the ground and picking up nearly 500 yards rushing.
In two years in Vermillion, Streveler played in 23 games for the Coyotes, throwing for 54 touchdowns and more than 6,000 yards. He also ran for better than 1,500 yards and scored 20 times.
