Every year the goal is to make it better. Active Generations in Sioux Falls is hosting their Active Life Expo this week.

Vendors, seminars and more will be a part of what will happen on Thursday. Organizer Val Lietz feels the expo will have a well-rounded group of exhibitors.

“This is our 20th annual expo so we have got it down to an art. We have a lot of interest for not only the seniors in our area that we serve, but also for everyone. We have everything from banking and health care to personal services. Almost everybody you would need to talk to at this event.”

As people’s lives change, Lietz believes the expo provides a hub for answers to those questions.

“Seniors are starting to downsize they want to look at something that’s more like a community home. There are different health needs than before. They have gotten to a point where they want to do different investments. So we’re trying to bring it all into one spot so they can ask lots of different questions in a short amount of time.”

Beyond vendors, Lietz invites people to get some more intense learning done on a variety of topics. Plus there will be refreshment of both body and mind.

“We’ll have 12 different seminars, one every hour in three different rooms starting at 10:00 AM through 2:00 PM. Also we have entertainment every half hour. There will be a wonderful meal at noon, free donuts and coffee and an ice cream social.”

Active Generations has long been associated with individuals closer to or into retirement, however they are starting to expand their programs to cater to younger folks.

The Active Life Expo will be Thursday May 4 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
