Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says a 15-year-old male student at Lincoln High School has been cited with a liquor law violation and bringing a knife to school.

Clemens says a teacher noticed the student's behavior was different and he was sent to the office.  While at the school office, officials smelled alcohol and a school resource officer was notified. The student also had a a pocket knife.

The student was arrested for having a weapon on school grounds and underage consumption.  He was taken to juvenile detention. A later blood alcohol test revealed the students blood alcohol level was 0.218, twice the legal limit.

Aside from the latest incident, authorities report five students have taken weapons to school so far this year.
