128 Million People Have Abandoned Land Line Phones — Have You? [POLL]
Like the phone book before it, the land line seems to be on the way out.
A new study has found more and more people are ditching land line phones for cell phones.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 41% of households only used a wireless phone in the last half of 2013. That's a big jump from the 38% the year before that and the 30% in 2010.
The most recent numbers indicate 93 million adults and roughly 35 million kids are using cell phones. That's a total of 128 million people who've hopped aboard the wireless revolution.
It seems there are some stark differences in lifestyle between those with land lines and those without:
* 29% of adults who only use cell phones had at least five drinks in one day, compared to 17% of those with land lines
* 25% of homes who rely on wireless don't have health insurance, while 15% of land line devotees do
