South Dakota ‘Down Home Fab’ Showcased on New Show
It's not every day you see South Dakota towns on national television. However, a home improvement television network was itching for a show that shines a spotlight on South Dakota. One local celebrity made this dream a reality.
HGTV's new show called "Down Home Fab" features South Dakota's own Chelsea DeBoer and her husband, Cole. The first of six-episodes recently premiered on HGTV.
Some people might recognize this Vermillion native from MTV shows like "16 and Pregnant" and “Teen Mom 2.”
Now HGTV is showing Chelsea and Cole's passion: Home improvement projects.
According to our friends at Pigeon605, Chelsea and Cole "gained a following as they shared the process of building their own home in 2020, and it led to the show."
Chelsea's vision for "Down Home Fab" is all about showing off the "South Dakota glam."
Chelsea and Cole DeBoer are super excited about this opportunity. Chelsea even told Pigeon605 she wants the HGTV audience to see how proud she is of being a South Dakota girl.
“HGTV is looking to highlight how wonderful of a state South Dakota is and how wonderful of an area Sioux Falls is. I think that’s cool because it is, and I’m so proud of our hometown and home state, and it deserves to be highlighted.”
The "Down Home Fab" series starts by renovating a home in Canistota. Another episode will feature a real estate agent's Sioux Falls home.
"Down Home Fab" airs Monday nights on HGTV at 8 PM.
