Winterfest of Wheels Brings in Record Dollars for Cure Kids Cancer
An event that raises funds for Cure Kids Cancer at the Sanford Children’s Castle has announced record breaking numbers in fundraising dollars.
Winterfest of Wheels usually donates an amount each year around $35,000 dollars, but according to Karen Leisinger, the event a few weeks ago surpassed their expectations:
Yes it was $47,985. That goes right to Cure Kids Cancer in Sioux Falls so all the money stays local to help the kiddos and research and families.
Winterfest of Wheels takes place every year, showcasing premier cars from antique to off the showroom floor, changing every year. The event also includes things for the entire family including a Ditch Your Man room and kids activities.
Leisinger shares why it’s important to her to help Cure Kids Cancer:
My great niece was diagnosed with cancer when she was ten months old. We've met so many other children and you are just in awe of them and want to do everything you can, so we continue to have the show every year so that we can raise more money so that hopefully someday there will be a cure.
The next Winterfest of Wheels is scheduled for February 2018 in Sioux Falls.
