(AP) - Willie Nelson was the first performer on the TV show Austin City Limits back in 1974. And now he's part of the first class of the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame.

Nelson says the honor "means a lot" because Austin is "the music capital of the world." During Saturday's induction ceremony, actor Matthew McConaughey introduced Nelson saying simply: "There would be no Austin City Limits without Willie Nelson."

Nelson turns 81 this week.
