His autobiography will be called "It's A Long Story: My Life" and it comes out May 5. He will cover growing up in the Great Depression, the meanings behind his songs and stories about friends like Kris Kristofferson, Ray Charles, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash.
