At KXRB and KXRB.com we always 'Keep It Country'.

While a lot of fans of real country music bemoan the fact that (it seems like) new country music isn't really very country at all, I have good news. No, I mean I have great news!

There is new 'real country' music being recorded and released. Right now artist's like Monte Good, James Robert Webb, Teea Goans, Mary Sarah and Mo Pitney sound great, mixed in with our all-time favorites like Marty, Merle, George and Hank. And now there's a new song and, at least to me, a new artist that is 'keeping it country'.

His name is Ray Scott and the song is 'Ain't Always Thirsty'. I've been getting call's with the question 'Who is that? That's good!'. And I agree.

Now, apparently I'm not quite as smart as I thought I was. According to the information below which is from Ray's website, this great artist has been around for several years! I guess I was too immersed in Waylon and Johnny and Kris and Paycheck!

So I'll let Ray's website tell you more:

For many, Ray Scott needs no introduction. Warner Bros. released Scott’s debut album My Kind Of Music in 2005 to enormous critical acclaim. The first single and title track cracked the top 40, but a combination of label politics and radio’s reluctance to embrace his fresh approach to country traditions had him off the label less than two years later. But a funny thing happened on the way to post-label obscurity – a level of success many major label artists might envy.

The good news is, the kind of music I’m making now is not age-specific. I’m not out there wiggling my ass for anybody, so it’s about telling stories, making people smile and making them feel something. And I can do that until I grow up, if the fans will still have me.

And now give a listen to a real country song. I mean a real good country song, and be listening for more Ray Scott on KXRB and KXRB.com.
