What Really Happened to Tyler Goodrich of Lincoln Nebraska?
Tyler Goodrich was a 35-year-old veteran of the U.S. military. He worked at the Nebraska Department of Corrections, was married, and had two teenage boys.
In November 2023, Tyler stormed out of his home in Lincoln after a heated argument with his husband, Marshall Vogel. He was never seen alive again.
Over the next 16 months, massive searches were conducted, accusations spread across social media, and even psychics would get involved.
But no real leads emerged... Until earlier this month, when a body was discovered just a few blocks from Tyler's own home.
After Tyler's initial disappearance, hundreds of volunteers throughout the community of Lincoln went out to search for him. Notably absent was Tyler's husband, Marshall Vogel. Because of this, numerous accusations were sent Marshall's way via social media.
It got so bad that Marshall told local press that he feared for the safety of his children. While Marshall was not present in the search effort, he did provide reflective clothing for those involved in the search for Tyler.
Months went by, and no real leads emerged. In late January 2024, the investigation took an unusual turn when a letter was sent to local police. In the letter, the anonymous individual indicated that they knew Tyler Goodrich was deceased.
They went on to say that he died after being hit by a drunk driver while running at night. This letter drew widespread speculation on social media as to who it could be. Finally, the person responsible for writing the handwritten note came forward, a local psychic. Police went on to say that they spoke to the psychic about their 'vision', but no discernable leads could be drawn from it.
In early March, a body was found just a few blocks from Tyler's home in Lincoln. Soon after, Tyler's family confirmed it was him. He was found in a wooded area, not far from the road. Investigators have called the discovery of Tyler's body "suspicious but not a homicide", but Tyler's family still has questions. Autopsy results have yet to be revealed in the case.
