Well This Stinks! Why Is This Tasty Sioux Falls Bakery Closed?

It's truly hard to believe that the New Year is right around the corner. Before individuals begin to crowd the gyms on January 1st, they might choose to enjoy some sweet treats this holiday weekend. Unfortunately, one local bakery won't be open to ring in the New Year.

Known for being "South Dakota's Original Boozy Bakery," Intoxibakes in Downtown Sioux Falls is temporarily closed. So if you were looking to purchase some of its boozy cupcakes and other "intoxicating" desserts, your sweet tooth is going to have to wait.

In a Facebook post late Tuesday evening, the Intoxibakes crew explained to its loyal customers that a sprinkler system in the Jones421 Building burst. The amount of water from this burst caused significant damage to the bakery. This includes the ovens at Intoxibakes. They are no longer functional and will have to be replaced.

The staff at Intoxibakes hope to be back up and running within the next two weeks.

When Intoxibakes eventually opens its doors again, the treats are certainly hard to pass up! This local bakery is one of the first South Dakota bakeries to infuse alcohol into its desserts. The bakery has "over 70 alcohol-infused flavors of cupcakes that rotate out during the week including Mudslide, Amaretto, Daiquiri, Bourbon Maple Bacon, and many more!" These delightful, boozy desserts are making me hungry! The pictures offer just a glimpse of these mouth-watering desserts!
