Do you know what's on the bottom of your shoes? You may think they're clean but they're not. In fact, they're down right disgusting.

According to a study done by the University of Arizona and the Environmental Protection Agency, there's a direct correlation between your health and how clean your house is.

And it all starts with your shoes.

Researchers found that people are tracking into their house everything from fecal matter to e-coli to herbicides and cigarette residue through the soles of their shoes.

And, given the fact the average person spends 70% of their time inside, we're being exposed to some pretty icky stuff - especially young kids and the elderly.

Because of the recent findings, health experts are advising all of us to impose a no-shoes rule, something Asian cultures have practiced for centuries.

Another suggestion is to get into the habit of cleaning the soles of your shoes with an anti-bacterial wipe before bringing them inside your house.
