You may have heard people talking, saying that 'real' country music is dead, that the 'new' country music isn't really country music at all. You may have heard phrases like 'bro-country' or 'hick-hop' country music. You may have heard that traditional or real country msuic is dead.

Well, I have good news!

Real country music is alive and, well....well! Thanks to newer artists like Zane Williams, Mo Pitney, Teea Goans and others, there is real good country music being released every week.

And that brings me to a man named Ward Davis.

Now I admit I'm often late to the party, so you may already be familiar with this artists fine work. But for me, just recently I came across a song called 'Old Wore Out Cowboys', and having been a huge fan of the great Ed Bruce for decades, it sounded familiar. So I gave it a spin and....wow! A phenomenal record featuring Jamey Johnson and Willie Nelson, I had to find out more about this guy, this Ward Davis, so I went to his website and found the following:

Ward Davis is an American Singer/Songwriter from Southeast Arkansas. Since moving to Nashville in 2000, Ward has written songs recorded by Trace Adkins, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Wade Hayes, Sammy Kershaw and many others. While writing has always been a passion for Ward, his first true love is singing and playing. In early 2015, he teamed up with Grammy Winning producer Jim “Moose” Brown to record his first full-length album of original material. The album, “15 Years in a 10 Year Town,” will include eight self-penned songs along with the Ed Bruce classic, “Old Wore Out Cowboys,” a collaboration with Willie Nelson and Jamey Johnson.

So what we have is a great (new to me) artist that not only 'keep's it country' but remembers and honor's his roots in music. It doesn't get any better than that.

So give a listen below to 'Old Wore Out Cowboys' and tell your friends, spread the word: There is real country music out there, and it's real good!
