Classic TV: Trapper, Gonzo And The Gang Entertained Us On ‘Trapper John, M.D.’
Here's an easy question to answer: Was 'Trapper John, M.D.' as popular a TV series as 'M*A*S*H'?
Nope. Not even close. Not even in the same ballpark.
And that's OK, because how many series were? That's doesn't make 'Trapper John, M.D.' a bad show. In fact, in my humble opinion, it was a very good show!
Airing from September, 1979 until September, 1986, 'Trapper John, M.D.' followed the further, uh, life of Trapper John McIntyre....and yes, that Trapper John.
But now Trapper had a younger Doctor that didn't always like to follow the rules, didn't care to fit into the stereotype lifestyle of a physician. After all, Gonzo Gates lived in a motorhome in the parking lot of the hospital, remember?
Who else was in the series?
Well, take a look in the opening of the show below. Oh, and doesn't Trapper look suspiciously like one of Ben Cartwright's young 'un's?
