In an e-mail from Robin Byrne, the Executive and Artistic Director, he states, "Over the past three seasons we have made a (no pun intended) dramatic recovery and our progress with regard to financial security and quality improvement is nothing short of breathtaking. We cannot stop there however, we must push forward and continue to grow our team, increase our footprint, be innovative, inclusive, collaborative, daring, and resilient. We continue to be a community theatre that strives to deliver high-quality affordable live theatre. In so doing we aim to inspire, cultivate and develop a rich pool of local talent thereby making our community an even more amazing place in which to live."

In doing all of this, The Sioux Empire Community Theatre is no more. As of Monday, August 23rd, 2021, 'The Sioux Empire Community Theatre has rebranded, and will henceforth be known as The Premiere Playhouse.'

The new name is a nod to the theatre's past. It was once called simply 'The Playhouse'. Many people in the Sioux Empire, involved in the theatre or not, still referred to the theatre as such.

The Premiere Playhouse will remain completely independent and self-managed.

If being a part of The Premiere Playhouse is something you would be interested in, they are looking for Board Members. Click here to find out more.
