Rue 21 is a specialty retailer of young men and women's casual apparel and accessories. The chain recently announced that they will be closing several stores. According to their website:

It was a difficult but necessary decision.

They stress that there are still hundreds of locations doing business as usual across the country and also on their website.

There are seven locations in South Dakota including two in Sioux Falls - one in the Empire Mall and one at Dawley Farm on the east side.  According to the Rue 21 website, those locations will remain open. The store in Rapid City will also remain open for business.

Stores in Mitchell, Aberdeen, Pierre, and Watertown will be closing.
