As a kid, you remember some of the field trips you took during elementary school and one that I always remember was our trip to De Smet South Dakota, the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

The history, the intrigue and the fact that there was a book series and TV show that I was familiar with, all were reasons why I was taken back by getting to visit the historic site in South Dakota.

Of course, the conditions, the environment and the major differences from our everyday life to theirs was fascinating then and even more fascinating to me as I have got older.

Some of the many things that fascinates me the most, are the clothing, the housing conditions and the lack of technology in their every day lives.
