WEBSTER, S.D. (AP) — The suspect in a fatal shooting in Roslyn late last year has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Forty-four-year-old Jason Lewandowski is accused of shooting 33-year-old Jeremy Hendrickson in Hendrickson's home on Nov. 20. Hendrickson later died at a hospital.

Lewandowski is charged in Day County with premeditated murder, burglary and a weapons offense. He's accused in Brown County of aggravated eluding of law enforcers, for allegedly leading officers on a chase after the shooting. All of the charges are felonies.

The American News reports that Lewandowski's next court date has not been set. Judge Jon Flemmer has approved a defense request for a psychiatric evaluation of Lewandowski.
