PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — An association that promotes the development of wind energy in South Dakota has named a new executive director.

Paul Bachman of Harrisburg took over as executive director of the South Dakota Wind Energy Association last week. He is the former department head and manager of the Sioux Falls office of DGR Engineering.

Bachman currently serves on a South Dakota legislative task force on wind energy and is a registered professional engineer in eight states.

Bachman has experience in financial modeling of capital investments, developing marketing plans, and conducting technical and financial feasibility studies for wind projects.

The South Dakota Wind Energy Association is a voluntary trade organization that supports the development of wind energy in the state.
