Portions of 1-29 were temporarily closed southbound lanes at MM60 due to a semi-trailer fire. The initial report from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office on its Facebook page claimed the trailer was loaded with fries. The pictures of the incident are remarkable. It's like you can feel the heat just from looking at the photos of the trailer!

Here are the latest updates from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office:

***UPDATE @5:33 am: Ace Towing is on scene for the recovery. The passing lane is currently open. Slow down and use caution when traveling through this area.
***UPDATE @3:33 am: traffic is trickling through on the passing lane shoulder. NO INJURIES. Semi was unhooked after fire started. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is primary on this incident.

Thankfully, it appears no one was harmed in this roadside fire. Except for the fires.

Glad to hear that nobody was hurt. Now you one of those fries extra crispy correct?

I bet it smells good. BYO Ketchup

Are they crispy yet?

Pray all are safe. Too bad it wasn't popcorn tho!!!

Thank you to the hardworking men and women in blue with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office who responded to this unimaginable call! Always remember to be safe on the roads, no matter where you're going.
