The staff at Camille's Sidewalk Cafe did confirm this unfortunate news in a Facebook post to its loyal patrons. The Empire Mall location first opened in the spring of 2021.

The staff with Camille's Sidewalk Cafe did not specifically say the reason behind the sudden closure at the Empire Mall. They are just grateful for its customers and for the future of the first Sioux Falls establishment.

Dear Camille's Sidewalk Cafe friends and family, our Empire Mall location will be closing its doors, but our main location will continue to serve you with the same warmth and flavor you love. Thank you for your support, see you soon at Camille's Sidewalk Cafe!

Camille's Sidewalk Cafe is not the first eatery at the Empire Mall that has closed recently. The Taco John's location in the Empire Mall "permanently closed" at the beginning of the year in January. In an article confirming the news, the Taco John's location has been a staple inside the Empire Mall's food court since the 90s. Details about the Taco John's closure at the Empire Mall are still limited.

There is some good news! The original location for Camille's Sidewalk Cafe is still open at West 41st Street and Grange Avenue in Sioux Falls. This shop is a great spot for enjoying lunch and supporting a local business.

See How East 10th Street in Sioux Falls Has Changed

It's really interesting using Google Streetview to compare the changes from the earliest pictures to the latest.

For Sioux Falls, the earliest views are from 2008 and the latest from early 2022.

Some of the looks aren't the clearest, but it still gives a real good look at how dynamic the east side of Sioux Falls is.
