I know I share many heartbreaking stories about our South Dakota furry friends waiting for homes. However, one dog gives the word "waiting" a new definition.

Say hello to Chimichurri Sauce, otherwise known to some as "Chimi." He is an older dog praying for a Christmas miracle.

Almost Home Canine Rescue (via Facebook)

Chimi has been waiting for his second chance with Almost Home Canine Rescue for an unimaginably long, long time. He has been with the local rescue for 844 days...that's two years and three months of hoping someone will take a chance on Chimi. My heart is breaking just looking at this sweet face.

In an emotional Facebook post, the staff at Almost Home Canine Rescue says this will be Chimi's third Christmas with the rescue. This can change if someone makes his Christmas wish come true.

Chimi is between 6-8 years old currently with a foster family in Jackson, Minnesota. They describe him as "playful and affectionate." You can tell Chimi is a special pup.

He will love you the moment he meets you.

Normally, when I write stories about pet adoption, I would take myself out of the equation. My family doesn't have the space right now for a four-legged friend. But I can guarantee that if we had a proper space for Chimi, we would take him in a heartbeat. He deserves his "fur-ever" home. You can learn more about Chimi here.

Gone But Not Forgotten - Iconic Sioux Falls: Whiffer's Sandwiches

The Merriam-Webster definition of iconic is "widely recognized and well-established." That would definitely describe Whiffer's Sandwiches which used to call North Minnesota Avenue home.

The gone but not forgotten sandwich shop was located in an old house at 1133 North Minnesota Avenue. It served sandwiches to Sioux Falls from November 1978 until the summer of 2020.

13 Times Sioux Falls Made it into a 'Jeopardy!' Question

If the world was divided into Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune people, I would be down for Jeopardy! all the way. It's a lot more fun, it makes me feel smart because I can retain lots of trivia, and I am a horrible speller. So Wheel is out, no whammies.

Recently I discovered (I mean wasted a lot of time on) a website that is an archive of clues that have been on Jeopardy!.

While digging around the archive, I wanted to find out how often Sioux Falls came up in a question (Answer) on the show. Since 1990 Sioux Falls has been part of a question or an answer 13 times.
