South Dakota Police & Fire Team Save Adorable Family of Ducks
Firefighters and police officers in one of South Dakota's biggest cities responded to an interesting rescue call on Tuesday afternoon.
The Aberdeen Police Department and Aberdeen Fire & Rescue teams were on a mission to reunite a family of ducks after some ducklings wandered into a storm drain.
Our news partners at Dakota News Now obtained an exclusive video of some of South Dakota's finest saving the young duck family.
A local Aberdeen resident noticed a family of ducks walking around the neighborhood and saw them near a storm drain. Suddenly, little ducklings started to disappear! Luckily, a Good Samaritan in Aberdeen called the Aberdeen Police Department to help the poor duck family. A firefighter from the Aberdeen Fire & Rescue even responded to the call.
This epic South Dakota rescue drew an audience and the neighborhood kiddos even wanted to help the baby ducks.
Aberdeen resident Ashley Gellhaus captured the video of the police and fire rescue teams saving the little ducklings. She appreciated their efforts and how kind they were to their special helpers.
Usually when you see first responders on a scene they want you to steer clear of the area, but not in this unique situation. They welcomed all the kids with open arms to assist in their recovery efforts of those precious little ducklings. The smiles on all their faces was priceless! It really was a heart warming experience.
