Nate White's passing is heartbreaking, not just for Jackrabbit fans but for towns across South Dakota. One local Dairy Queen in Hartford, South Dakota, is even hosting a benefit for Nate's family.

Local owners of the Hartford Dairy Queen say this news is tough for them to hear. It hits close to home. Instead of moving on, they feel the need to help Nate's family in Wisconsin during this difficult time.

We have a son who plays football for the Yotes and will be 20 years old next spring. Sports are important to many people in this state. It’s important to us. We can’t imagine life without it, but also is a great reminder that sports is just a small part of what’s important in life.

While reading through the many tributes and stories written about Nate, we came across a post that said Nate would have had jersey #3 this season. That’s the same jersey number that both of our boys wore in high school for both football and basketball.

To pay tribute to #3,  30% of all Blizzard sales will benefit Nate's family. You can visit the Hartford Dairy Queen location anytime today and by your sweet treat to honor Nate White.
