Expect Low Labor Day Gas Prices in South Dakota, Iowa & Minnesota

Travel experts with AAA say that 85% of people plan to travel on the road to celebrate the last hurrah of summer, and drivers shouldn't have to worry about their wallets.

Last August, during the Labor Day holiday, the national average for a gallon of gas was $3.33. 2025 gas prices tell a much different story. Overall, summer gas prices have remained low throughout the country this year. In fact, the current Labor Day gas prices are similar to the low prices drivers saw in August of 2021.
