
South Dakota Firefighters Save The Day After Major Car Crash
Sometimes you never know what to expect as a first responder in Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota. During the start of Valentine's Day weekend, members of the Box Elder Volunteer Fire Department responded to a major call involving a vehicle vs. building accident.
With the help of the Rapid City Fire Department, crews assisted in removing a car from the inside of a South Dakota home. Could you imagine having a car crash into your home? Scary stuff.

In a shocking Facebook post from the Box Elder Volunteer Fire Department, pictures of this huge South Dakota car crash. Both firefighters of the Box Elder Volunteer Fire Department and Rapid City Fire Department are grateful no one involved was seriously hurt.
People across the Sioux Empire cannot believe how serious this accident was.

The owner of the home Genevieve Smith made a statement on the Facebook post from the Box Elder Volunteer Fire Department. She couldn't be more thankful for the first responders who protected her family.
This is my house, I have to tell you how grateful I am for the help, response, gentleness, kindness, bravery, strength that all these men had for my house and family. Beyond grateful for all of these brave humans that helped us. Thank you.
At this time, there are no details about how the car crashed into a home or if the driver was impaired at the time of the accident.
