It Finally Happened! 'Chimi' Found His Forever South Dakota Home

The wait for a loving, sweet South Dakota dog is finally over. Chimichurri Sauce, otherwise known to some as "Chimi," is officially home forever.

After waiting for over 1,000 days with Almost Home Canine Rescue, a family at long last noticed Chimi and took him home forever.

In a joyous Facebook post, Almost Home Canine Rescue shared a heartwarming picture of Chimi with his new family. He has a second chance he so deserves. It's like you can hear all of the Sioux Empire breathe a sigh of relief!

This is the happy ending Almost Home Canine Rescue, South Dakota, and beyond hoped for. Chimi's story is the perfect example of how waiting is worth it. Chimi wouldn't have his new life without the people who supported him on this long journey.

Chimi's journey is a reminder that while some dogs find homes quickly, others take a little longer—but that doesn't make them any less worthy of love. The right family was worth the wait.

Thank you to everyone who shared his posts, cheered him on, donated, volunteered, and especially to his incredible foster family who loved him through every step of this journey. You helped make this day possible.

Gone But Not Forgotten - Iconic Sioux Falls: Whiffer's Sandwiches

The Merriam-Webster definition of iconic is "widely recognized and well-established." That would definitely describe Whiffer's Sandwiches which used to call North Minnesota Avenue home.

The gone but not forgotten sandwich shop was located in an old house at 1133 North Minnesota Avenue. It served sandwiches to Sioux Falls from November 1978 until the summer of 2020.
