Over 700 Days of Waiting, Edison Needs A New South Dakota Family
There are many South Dakota pets waiting for their second chance inside animal shelters. But some pets have been holding on to the hope of finding their heroes.
This sweet South Dakota dog is Edison. He's a 3-year-old Mixed Breed pup who has been waiting for his second chance for 741 days... it breaks my heart.

You're not reading this wrong. Edison has been a long-term resident of the Almost Home Canine Rescue based in Sioux Falls. If you're curious, 741 days equals over two years of dreaming about a new home. The only life Edison knows is living in a shelter or temporary living spaces.
Edison is a special boy for many reasons at the Almost Home Canine Rescue. One that stands out is his resilience. Eddison is deaf. But he's super smart! Staff explain that he knows sign language commands and responds to a vibrating collar to get his attention. Edison is just a big lovebug who only wants a second chance.
Staff at Almost Home Canine Rescue have seen potential adopters overlook their Edison. He is always the star of the show at any Almost Home Canine Rescue event, and he loves meeting new people.
I really enjoy being with people. Playing tug-of-war is one of my favorite activities! I have graduated from Witches to Wags obedience class and learned sit, stay, leave it, shake, roll over, and am eager to learn more! Chewing toys are a fun pastime of mine. I don't mind playing with children, dogs, or cats. A fenced yard would be nice, but not necessary as I am currently on a leash when I go outside. I'm full of kisses and energy and can't wait to play with you at my fur'ever home!
Edison is currently with a foster family in Sioux Falls. Please consider giving this sweetheart a fair shake. You can get more information about Edison here.
Will you take a chance on Edison? He's been waiting for you for a long time.
