South Dakota Bands, DJs, Others to Be Honored at Rock Music Ceremony
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — People and places that impacted rock and roll music in the state will be honored next month at the South Dakota Rock and Roll Music Association Induction Ceremony and Concert in Sioux Falls.
This year's inductees include bands, DJs, ballrooms and dance halls, music stores, booking agents and promoters and radio stations.
Feature inductees are members of The Red Willow Band. Tom Peterson will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Ricky Jacobsen and Greg Shelden will be honored with the Spirit of the Music Award.
The association also promotes music education and will donate $10,000 to the South Dakota Music Teachers Association.
The ceremony and concert will be held April 17-18 at the Ramkota Inn Exhibit Hall in Sioux Falls. Tickets are on sale at the SDRRMA's website.
