Two individuals were hospitalized on Thursday, (January 19) with non-life threatening stab wounds that resulted from an early morning altercation in Sioux Falls.

KDLT News is reporting the incident took place just after 5:00 AM on North Main Avenue and Russell.

According to reports, neighbors in the area were awoken to the sound of a large fight. One person, Shakira Clark, said, “I didn’t really think anything of it until I looked out the front window and saw a whole line-up of cops and I was like okay, what’s going on.”

As police began to investigate the incident, the original fight location was discovered.

KDLT TV reports that officers proceeded to the scene located in the 1400 block of East 8th Street and began to interview subjects. During the process, one subject refused to exit the residence, prompting Sioux Falls police to call a SWAT and the Crisis Negotiation Unit.

A brief negotiation took place and the subject eventually exited the dwelling and was taken into custody.

One subject was arrested for a previous warrant out of Oklahoma. The man, 40-year-old David Patrick Brock, is a resident of Sioux Falls.

At this time police believe Thursday's incident is drug related. The investigation is on-going.
